For DICOM and Webagent, Animana uses the open-source and free-of-charge OpenJDK. This article will explain how to install this version of Java through Adoptium, which by default will install the appropriate OpenJDK for your Operating System; Windows or MacOSX.

- If you are using Oracle’s version of Java or OpenJDK, please make sure to uninstall that version first! More instructions can be found here.
- For this installation, a 64-bit architecture is required.
- If you are uncertain about how to install this software, please get in touch with your IT administrator before proceeding!
Step-by-step instructions
- Go to https://adoptium.net/.
- The next steps are operating system specific. Proceed with the steps that are relevant to your situation.

Installation instructions for Windows
- Click Release archive.
- From the drop-down menu behind “Version”, select 8-LTS.
- Scroll down until you see “jdk8u372-b07” on the left and click JDK in that table next to Windows x64. The download will start.
- Open your download folder.
- Double-click to open the downloaded .msi file. The installer will start.
- Click Next to start the Eclipse Temurin JDK Setup Wizard.
- Click the box by “JavaSoft (Oracle) registry keys” and select Entire feature will be installed on your local hard drive.
- Click Next.
- Click Install.
- Click Yes when asked if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device.
- Click Finish.
- Now restart your computer to finalise the installation.

If you are using the webagent or the dicom uploader, please verify you are using a version newer than 0.4.7 (Webagent) or 3.16 (Dicom uploader). You can find the version number as follows:
- For the Webagent version click the status tab in your active webagent.
For the Dicom uploader version click Help > about Dicom in your active Dicom uploader.
