Interaction – Surgery

The Surgery interaction is available only within the Patient file.

You can enter detailed information about patient surgery, which will be recorded in the patient history.

Date and Time

You can enter the start date and time for the surgery, as well as the end date and time.

When you start a surgery report, the current date will be chosen. If you want to change the date, simply type the correct date or use the calendar.

Surgeon

Select the name of the surgeon from the drop-down selection list. If the operation is being performed by a visiting surgeon, click the (+) icon, then enter the visiting surgeon’s name.

Assistant

Select the name of the assistant for the operation from the drop-down selection list. If a visiting assistant is helping, click the (+) icon, then enter the assistants’ name.

Surgery

Enter information regarding the type of surgery performed.

Pre-medication

Enter details of any Pre-operative Medication courses for the patient.

Induction

Enter the method of anaesthetic induction, or notes relating to this.

Maintenance

Enter the method of anaesthetic maintenance or notes relating to this.

Anaesthesia course

Here you can type the course of the anaesthesia. For example it the patient was calm during the operation or if resuscitation was necessary.

Indication

Record any indications relating to the surgery. For instance the reason of the surgery.

Performing

For instance if a complete tumour is removed, the type of suture that has been used.

Pain Management

Provide details of pain management treatments.

Remarks

Enter a comment or note associated with the surgery.
TIP: the summary text will be shown as a preview on the patient file history row.

Add product

You can add products to the surgery by clicking the add product button

You will now see the product row

Click the “…” icon to add a product.

Save

Once you have finished entering surgery details, and adding products, click save to save the surgery. It will now be show in the patient history.
