Firefox is a good and flexible browser. When set up correctly it will greatly improve the ease of use of IDEXX Animana.
You can download Firefox for free by going to this link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/ and click on ‘Free Download’. Follow the installation process and after the installation is done the browser will open.
Update Firefox to the most recent version
When you already have Firefox installed, you can update it by going to the menu in the top right hand corner , click on Help at the bottom and select the last option ‘About Firefox’. The pop-up About Firefox appears and Firefox starts searching for updates and if there is an update available the download will start automatically.
When going to the top right hand corner in the browser and clicking on the icon , the Firefox menu appears. Next, click on Options.
Here you will be guided through a couple of steps:
- If desired, you can make Animana your home page by going to ‘General’ in the Firefox menu and enter http://login.animana.com where it says ‘Home Page:’
- Accept pop-ups from Animana by going to ‘Content’ and add ‘animana.com’
- Select the correct application for opening and printing PDF files. First you need to make sure you have the newest version of Adobe Reader installed. Free download can be found here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/.
- Preventing Browser Cache. Make sure you have the following settings in the ‘Privacy’ section if you want to prevent having a full browser cache (recommended). Also, these settings help to prevent agenda synchronisation issues.
- Remember passwords
Of course it is not recommended to have the browser save passwords when the same computer is used by multiple people. Firefox normally asks to save passwords, if you want to prevent passwords from being saved you can switch this functionality off. All you have to do is uncheck one box.
In order for all the settings to work properly, close the browser completely and open it again.
