The IDEXX VetLab Station brings all your in-house diagnostics together. It serves as a hub for managing laboratory results, integrating with analyzers, and sharing information with Animana. In this article, we explain the configuration for the integration between IDEXX VetLab Station and Animana, allowing you to send an in-house diagnostics request from Animana to your IDEXX analyzer and then receive the results in the patient file.
Before you start
- In order to send and retrieve results from the VetLab Station, you will need to have a (free) VetConnect PLUS account with valid credentials. See the related articles for instructions.
- Enter your VetConnect PLUS credentials on your VetLab Station. Go to the IDEXX VetLab Station dashboard > Settings > Vetconnect plus. When you’ve entered your credentials you will see the option “test your connection”. Click that to see if the connection works. It can take up to 24 hours for the connection to work.
- You need permission to be able to access your Animana settings. Permissions can be adjusted by practice administrators in Settings > General Settings > Role Management.
- If you have multiple practice locations that use VetConnect PLUS, please ask your IDEXX laboratory to link your sublocations with the main location. IDEXX VetConnect PLUS will provide so-called “LIMS IDs” for each location. These LIMS IDs and location names can be entered in Animana in the fields for multiple locations, under VetConnect PLUS.
