How do I bulk update multiple products at once?

If you are working with an extensive product database in Animana, managing settings for individual products can be time-consuming. Especially when you want to update the same information (such as product group, units, prices, or stock settings) for multiple products at once, this can become a lengthy process. This article explains how to quickly update settings for several products at the same time.

As an example, we want to disable batch tracking for all products in the product group “materials – disposables”.

  1. Go to Extra > Products > Edit Products.
  2. In the first field at the top, select a category of settings you want to adjust from the dropdown menu. In our example, we choose the option “Stock & batch”. More about this.
  3. In the second field, select a product group from the dropdown menu. In our example, we select the product group “materials – disposables”.
Or search for a product in the third field and click Find.
  4. If needed, you can use the fourth field, “Type”, to filter your search results on whether it’s a product or a service. More about this.
  5. Adjust the product information as needed.
  6. Depending on the selected category, you must either confirm your changes per product by clicking Save behind each modification, or – if there is no Save button – the changes will be saved automatically.

Where is a product configured as a product or as a service?

The product details indicate whether an item is a product or a service. You can find the product details via Extra > Products > Products > open a product > Product Info tab > “service” field. If this field is set to “yes”, the item relates to a service.

Tip: do you want to change whether multiple items are configured as a product or a service? Then use the menu Extra > Products > Edit Products and choose “Extra product info” as the category. In the “Type” column, you can adjust whether it concerns a product or a service.
