How do I request a Zoetis Diagnostics test?

The Zoetis Diagnostics integration allows you to send in-house diagnostic requests directly from Animana to your Zoetis analysis device. This article explains how to submit such an in-house diagnostic request for Zoetis from Animana.

Before you start

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the patient file.
  2. Click on Diagnostics. You will find this option at the end of the blue action buttons at the top of the patient file, either pre-selected or in the Diagnostics dropdown menu.
  3. You will see an overview of all laboratory tests available in your product database. Use the search bar at the top right of the table to locate the desired test, or filter the table columns by test code, test name, provider, site, or category.

  4. Click + Add Test on the right-hand side of the desired test.
  5. Repeat step 4 for any additional tests you wish to request for this patient.
  6. At the top, under the section “Current order”, you can see the tests you have selected.
  7. Click Order Tests at the top.
  8. Review the test(s) you want to order in the next screen.
  9. Click Confirm order to proceed, or Add more tests if you wish to request an additional test for this patient.
  10. In the next screen, under “Veterinarian”, select the veterinarian requesting the test(s). This veterinarian will receive updates regarding the request.
  11. If prompted, enter any missing information about the veterinarian, patient or client.
  12. Click Send to submit the diagnostic request to your Zoetis analysis device.

You can now choose between Order more tests or Back to patient file. In the patient file, you will see that the status of your request is now “ordered”.

Next, bring your sample to your Zoetis analysis device, select your request on the machine and process the sample. Once the test has been completed, the results will be sent to Animana’s patient file, the status of the request will be updated to “completed” and the veterinarian (entered in step 10) will receive an internal Animana message to notify them of the result.

I cannot select the right veterinarian in the request.

If you cannot select the correct veterinarian at step 10, the user settings for that veterinarian needs to be adjusted in Animana.

I do have a Zoetis test in my product database, but I do not see the test in the overview when I want to request a test.

Is the Zoetis test not in your product database? Then you need to create a new product for this, see the related articles.

If the Zoetis test is in your Animana product database, but you do not see it in the overview of step 3 above, then you need to edit the Zoetis test information in your product database. You need to have permissions for this. User permissions can be adjusted in Settings > General Settings > Role Management.

  1. Go to Extra > Products > Products.
  2. Find and open the product (the Zoetis diagnostic test).
  3. Open the tab Order info.
  4. For “supplier” select the option “zoetis_poc” from the drop-down menu.
  5. Add the “supplier code” for Zoetis.
  6. Add the “barcode” for the Zoetis test.
  7. Click Save.

When you return to the step-by-step instructions you should now be able to select the test in step 3.
