This article is meant to give instructions to those who are responsible for setting up the printers at your practice. The following setup needs to be completed on each workstation that is used for printing from Animana.
Installing the printer
The printer needs to be installed by you or your IT person before it can be used with your workstation(s).
If you need help with installing your printer please refer to the manual supplied with the printer, check the printer manufacturer’s website or call the printer manufacturer’s support desk!
Print a test page to check if the printer is installed properly. You can continue with the next step if the test page prints correctly.
Setting printer properties
Go to Start>Devices and Printers and click on the printer icon with the right button on your mouse to get the extra menu.
- Select Printer properties
- Select the TAB [General]
- Add ‘STANDARD’ to the printer name. Now Animana knows what printer to use when a document is printed.
- Click Apply
- Click OK
To prevent issues with silent printing or printer selection, there should only be 1 printer per type (kassa, label or standard) installed on your computer.
Setting up the browser requirements and ‘one click’ printing
All printed documents in Animana are pdf files printed from the browser. To enable this please follow the steps in these Knowledge Base articles:

When all the previous steps are done, the printer is installed, set up and can be recognised by Animana.

Default settings for printing in Animana
To complete the setup, you need to check the settings in the print preview so that it follows those settings the next time you silently print. Please note that this is a local setting that will be stored on the workstation. Therefore, it needs to be set on each workstation.
Login in Animana and select a document to print, e.g. an invoice.
- In the Print options window select the default (STANDARD) printer from the dropdown list.
- Select Actual under Page Sizing & Handling.
- Check layout in preview box. If the preview does not look right yet, try the other settings under Page Sizing whilst checking the layout in the preview box.
- Click Print

What follows next are suggestions to fix any issues you might have with your printer set-up.
Save a test PDF
If the documents are not printed correctly from Animana;
- save the document as a PDF file
- open this PDF file with Adobe Reader
- print from Adobe Reader
Test PDF does not print OK
If the test PDF does not print correctly, certain settings on the computer are incorrect. These settings are outside of Animana, so please contact your systems administrator. Most likely, the problem lies with the printer driver settings, (for example the paper size).

If the test PDF prints correctly from Adobe Reader but not from Animana, please contact customer support.
