Searching for clients and patients is one of the key functionalities you should master. While the search functionality also allows you to search for vets and suppliers, this article only focuses on finding the right client in Animana.
Step-by-step instructions
- Enter the client name in the search field in the menu bar at the top. You can also enter part of the name.
- Check that the “Client” search option is selected (if not, click the arrow behind the magnifying glass and choose Client from the drop-down menu).
- Click Enter.
You will see a list of search results of all active clients with the name you entered. Click on the appropriate client to open its client file.

Some search tips:
- If there is an inactive client in the search results, you will see the label “inactive” in front of the name.
- All searches ignore accented letters. So searching for client “Bronte” is the same as searching for “Brontë”.
- If you are looking for an inactive client, change the search option to “Client Inactive” in the drop-down menu behind the search field.
- If you have a lot of search results, give a better search with more information. See the related articles.
