Product Groups

Within Animana Products can be grouped together to make them easier to locate, to make it easier to edit (in edit products) and also for reporting purposes.

By default the product group ‘administration’ is already created. In case of a conversion, the product groups from your old system are also placed here.  The overview shows the name of the group, the number of products in the group, and the margin.

Creating a Product Group

To add a new product group, click add product group at the bottom left of the screen:

General

Name

Set the name for the product group you are creating. These can be as specific or as broad as you wish. For example; “consultancy”, “vaccinations”, “medicine” etc…

Order Number

The order number defines the order that this product group is shown in product group lists. The lower the number the earlier it will appear. This is especially useful to put regularly used product groups at the beginning of the list. When you don’t use the order number the product groups will be shown in alphabetic order.

Markups

Specify the markups (as set in Products > Markups). This markup calculation will apply to all products in this product group. Note: markups set at product level will over-ride group margins.

Remarks

You may add any comments or notes relevant to this product group – for example details on what products are included in the group.

Save a Product Group

Save the product group by clicking the save button.

Editing a Product Group

To edit a product group simply click the appropriate product group row:

Product Group Price Groups

When editing an existing product group you may create price-groups specific for the product group. If no price group is selected, the standard price will be used.

Deleting a Product Group

To delete a Product Group which has no products assigned, simply click the icon on the appropriate product group row.

Delete a Non-Empty Product Group

Warning: be careful when deleting a product group which is non empty – this cannot be undone!
Products that are removed by deleting the product group will be set to inactive so the removal of a product group and associated products does not have an effect on past invoices or reporting. All inactive products can be found in Products> Products> Show inactive products.

Note! When you delete a product which has not been used (sold), the product will be deleted and will not be set on inactive. Explicitly important for products which are converted.

Enable deletion of non-empty groups

Click the delete non-empty product group text in the bottom left of the screen:

Delete the non-empty product group

You will now see that icons have appeared next to each of the product groups. Click the appropriate row to delete the group.
