How do I create a logbook?

The logbook allows you to create an overview of which medication has been given to which herd or horse, for which indication, and what the waiting time is before consuming milk or meat. This article explains how to create a logbook in Animana.

Step-by-step instructions

In this example, a logbook is created for a herd.
  1. Open the herd file.
  2. Click on Logbook. Depending on your settings, you will find this option either in the row of blue action buttons or in the drop-down menu “More actions” at the top left of the file.
  3. A new tab opens in your web browser. Fill in the fields “from” and “end” with the desired date range for the logbook. This can be done either by typing the date in or by clicking on the calendar icon and selecting a date.
  4. Select the name of the veterinarian from the drop-down menu under “Signature veterinarian”. This name will appear under the logbook.
  5. Click the Print button if you want to print the logbook. The veterinarian selected in step 4 must then sign the logbook form.
  6. Click the Email button if you want to email the logbook. Check and fill in the fields “from”, “to”, “subject”, and “text” in the email screen and click Send.
  7. You will see a notification at the top of the screen that the email has been sent. Close the tab.The email is now added to the herd file.

How does the information get on a logbook?

Once products are added to a herd file or a horse, they are included in the logbook. Products can be added to a file individually or via a visit form. All products with a registration number appear in the logbook.
