Using (custom) protocols adds tremendous value when standardising processes in your practice. If these protocols are frequently used, it’s likely there will be a time when you’d like to search for protocols that have been added to patient or client files. This article will explain how to search for those protocols in Animana.

Before you start

Step-by-step instructions

1. In the header bar, click the arrow next to the search box and change the search option from Client (default) to Protocol.
2. Type one or more keywords in the “search for keywords” field or leave it empty if all assigned protocols need to be shown.

   Note: Animana looks for an exact match of the keywords.  For example, searching for “keep warm” will not match “keep horse warm”.
   
3. Select a protocol from the drop-down menu. This field is mandatory.

4. Specify the period you want to search used protocols for by entering a start date (“From”) and end date (“To”).
5. If needed, you can use the drop-down menu for “Species” to filter on specific species.

   If you are searching for a protocol that was added to a client file, keep the species selection on ‘All’. Otherwise protocols added to client files will not be found.
6. If you want to include inactive patients in your search results, untick the box “Exclude inactive patients”.
7. Click Search.

Your search results will appear at the bottom of the page. Click on one of the results to see the protocol in full detail.
